The Procedure

Most patients fully recover within six weeks. However, every human body is unique, and so the recovery timeline will vary from case to case. The best person to assess the timeline is your surgeon.

The first five to seven days are a period of bed rest. Temporary discomfort, pain, bruising, and swelling are common. Pain medication will be prescribed, and cold compresses can aid in swelling reduction.

At least three weeks are required to ease back into a daily routine. The patient is advised to only wear very soft bras without underwire. Underwire bras should be worn only after all post-surgery healing is complete.

The patient will require time off from work. A follow-up appointment with the surgeon will be necessary to check on the status of the healing process.
